Star Wars: Episode IX is the third and final film in this current trilogy of the legacy, and due to the success of The Last Jedi, there’s some pressure on it. J.J Abrams is back to spice up the series with plenty of support from fans.

In The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker technically died as he turned to dust and dissolved into the force. Fans were barraging Skywalker actor Mark Hamil, on twitter with questions. We want to know if he’s actually gone, or if he will have a part in IX. Last week, Hamill tweeted a confirmation that he will, in fact, appear in the film.

“All I can is yes, I’m in it.” He says.

Since Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope in 1977, Hamill has portrayed Like Skywalker. The actor and character will now see the Skywalker saga come to an end. The only character who is still alive in the galaxy is Leia. Carrie Fisher, who has portrayed Leia since 1977 passed on December 27th, 2016. She will appear in the film, as well as Billy Dee Wlliams and Anthony Daniels.

Similarly to how Obi-Wan Kenobi did originally, the Force Ghost ought to provide guidance and lectures to complete the training cycle in the form of Luke Skywalker. His reappearance will then give closure to the galaxy’s greatest heroes.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
