John Krasinski Reveals He Actually Played Two On-Screen Roles in ‘A Quiet Place’

Without a doubt, John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place was one of the biggest, and most talked about films of this year. The mostly dialogue-free thriller starring Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds made a massive amount of noise at the box office, and there’s a sequel already in the works from Paramount Pictures.

The film follows a family of four (Krasinski, Blunt, Jupe, and Simmonds) who must navigate their lives in complete and total silence to avoid the mysterious creatures that hunt by sound and threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you.

On Tuesday night, Krasinski stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he spoke a bit further about the hugely successful film. During his interview, Kimmel revealed that not only did Krasinski play the leading role in the movie, but he also had a surprise second role as well – the role of the mysterious creature! Kimmel even had a picture of the star in the motion-capture suit while in full-on monster madness mode!

A slightly embarrassed Krasinski joked with Kimmel saying, “This is going to end my career. The commitment level was really high.” He continues, “The amazing people at ILM [Industrial Light and Magic] asked, ‘So how does the creature move?’ and I said, ‘Well, this is how I think he’s gonna crawl.’ And they said, ‘Well, why don’t you throw on the suit?’ And I was like, ‘Totally!’ Then they took that picture, and I thought I was auditioning for ‘Lion King.’ I don’t know what’s going on in that. I was just there, though, dialed in!”

In addition to his two on-screen roles, Krasinski also re-worked the script, and the directed the film. He is a man of many talents! The story for the film was written by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck with Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller as producers.
