New Talent Series ‘The World’s Best’ Nabs Post-Super Bowl Slot

If last year’s post-Super Bowl episode of This Is Us was just too much of an emotional journey for you, you’re in luck! It looks like CBS will be bringing the reality genre to the coveted slot this time around, announcing that its new talent series The World’s Best will be setting up camp immediately after Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.

So, just what is The World’s Best? Hosted by The Late Late Show‘s James Corden, the series will follow “acts from every genre imaginable, from every corner of the planet who will have to impress the judges and ‘the wall of the world’ — 50 experts from different fields of entertainment who will help contestants advance through the competition. It sounds like a lot, but they’ve rounded up a solid blend of talented coaches including popular actress Drew Barrymore, RuPaul of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and iconic country musician Faith Hill. The series comes from notorious unscripted television producers Mike Darnell and Mark Burnett.

In the previous years that CBS has hosted the Super Bowl, they’ve placed series such as The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Elementary and Undercover Boss in the post-game slot, which almost always earns huge ratings.

While no halftime show has officially been announced yet, it’s rumored that Maroon 5 will be taking the stage, following in the footsteps of Justin Timberlake who performed last year with previous headliners including Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and Beyoncé. You can watch Timberlake’s full performance below!
