Watch the Mystical First Teaser for Disney’s Live-Action ‘Aladdin’

Are you ready to take a magic carpet ride with Disney’s live-action remake of the animated classic Aladdin?

On Thursday, Disney dropped our very first look at the upcoming film, and everything about this teaser is magical!

Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (best known for their work on The Greatest Showman and La La Land have been tapped to add some new musical numbers to the film. Mena Massoud will play the titular character alongside Will Smith who will play Genie, Naomi Scott who will play Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari who will play Jafar and Navid Negahban who will play the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad who will play Jasmine’s handmaiden, Billy Magnussen who will play a potential suitor for Jasmine and Numan Acar as Jafar’s right-hand man.  The film, directed by Guy Ritchie and wrapped production at the beginning of this year.

The original animated classic was released back in 1992 and featured the voice talents of Scott Weinger, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Gilbert Godfrey, and the late, great Robin Williams. The film quickly became a beloved Disney classic and is one of several films being transformed into live-action productions including Dumbo, Lilo and Stitch, Mulan and Lady and the Tramp.

The film also dropped its first poster yesterday which features the iconic magic lamp.

Aladdin will ride his magic carpet into theaters on May 24, 2019.
