‘This Is Us’ Sneak Peek Promises Some Happy Tears for the Pearson’s

When This Is Us airs its second episode this Tuesday, viewers can expect to head back to the teenager Big Three timeline – aka the Pearson family post-Jack. It’s certainly going to be one of the more emotional and raw stories to follow this season as Rebecca, Randall, Kevin, and Kate attempt to navigate a whole new trail of life without their compass. Although, the latest sneak peek from the episode titled “A Philadelphia Story” promises some fleeting moments of happiness for the mourning family.

The clip finds Rebecca handing Randall his acceptance letter to Howard University – wahoo, go Randall! Of course, while it’s extremely exciting news for Randall and a prideful moment for Rebecca, as the two share an emotional embrace it’s hard not to feel the pain in the room seeing as Howard was the school that Jack took Randall to tour last season. Their moment is soon interrupted when Kate comes in, and while she’s happy for Randall, her whole demeanor changes when he mentions Berkeley to her – another university shadowed by Jack’s presence. Kate also denies Rebecca’s offer for a veggie omelet, grabbing a Pop-Tart instead, hinting that her eating habits will most likely begin coming to light shortly.

What can fans expect when it comes to the present-day storyline? Well, Toby will begin immediately feeling the repercussions of quitting his anti-depressants cold turkey as the family all attend the premiere of Kevin’s new movie Hill 400. You can watch the promo for “A Philadelphia Story” below!
