Jason Dohring & More Returning For ‘Veronica Mars’ Limited Series
After freaking out over the fact that Hulu was bringing Veronica Mars back for a limited series run, our first question was will Logan Echolls be back? Aside from watching Veronica sleuth her way around Neptune taking down all of the creeps and the baddies, watching her relationship with Logan evolve over the show’s three seasons (and 2014 movie) was one of the best and strongest parts of the series. Well, fear not! Jason Dohring is officially reprising his role along with three other Veronica Mars vets.
Series creator Rob Thomas shared on Twitter that in addition to Dohring, Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Weevil) and David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas) would all be reprising their roles. No Piz? No Dick Casablancas? Don’t get too worried just yet! Thomas promised that more casting announcements would be on the way!
Here’s who we have booked for the #VeronicaMars series, so far. (More are on the way, I swear.) @jason_dohring, @franciscapra, @PD3Official, @dstarzyk, and, of course, @IMKristenBell.

The new series will consist of eight episodes with Bell reprising her role as the titular private investigator. Here is the official synopsis of the series according to Variety:
“Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into a mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”
Dohring and Bell always had great chemistry on camera, making it easy for fans to ship the couple throughout the show’s three-season run as well as the 2014 film. While the movie did give fans a little extra LoVe, it wasn’t nearly enough to satisfy, so hopefully, the Hulu series is able to devote more time to these two navigating romance in their adult lives.
Are you excited to see these 4 characters return for the quasi-fourth season? Who do you want to see make the return? Let us know!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
