How the Red Skull’s Story is Still Continuing After ‘Infinity War’

May contain spoilers of Avengers: Infinity War

If you thought that this was the end for Red Skull (Ross Marquand) after Infinity War, you are wrong. The Russo’s have proven again that they thought of every single detail in the movie.

As you already may know, the actor who previously portrayed the Red Skull, the biggest villain behind Hydra, that was still very much alive in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Hugo Weaving did not return for the surprise cameo in Infinity War, however, will this stay a cameo? Now, get ready to have your mind blown away, and loads of your theories shook out of your grasp because the Russo’s did it again. They confused the heck out so many people (me included). When asked by a fan on Twitter what now happens to Red Skull after he helped Thanos get the soul stone, they had a reply, and we weren’t ready for it.

The Russo brothers replied that Red Skull is now free to leave Vormir AND he’s ready to pursue an Infinity Stone. It all sounds outrageous, and some theories that I had disappeared like a snap of Thanos’ fingers (yes, I just went there).

Now, what can this mean for Avengers 4? Is there a way that Red Skull will get to earth and take Thanos his place with the Infinity Stones? Better yet, didn’t Thanos snap all people that don’t matter away in the end anyway? Or did Red Skull escape this by not really being a person and helping Thanos achieve his goal to the Soul Stone?

What we do know about Avengers 4, is that Thanos isn’t going anywhere. With this new information, however, it makes us think what kind of future the new heroes will have. The question arises though, how will he ever achieve the Soul Stone when he doesn’t have anything he loves to kill? He lived a hundred years before all of this happened, everyone, he used to know is gone.

Also, a friend of me pointed out how the Russo brothers mentioned ‘infinity stone,’ not plural. So, maybe he’s only going after one stone, and the questions about the Soul Stone disappear.

So, do you think that Red Skull has a future in the MCU? Do you think he’ll be in Avengers 4, or even the end credit scene in Avengers 4? Let us know in the comments below.

Avengers 4 will hit theaters on May 3, 2019, and Avengers: Infinity War will come home on August 14.
