Henry Cavill Says he Would Gladly Play James Bond

Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond is almost over and soon, the future of the franchise will be passed over to another person. This will be after Craig returns for a fifth film, Bond 25 which will have Danny Boyle at the helm and breathe new life into the James Bond franchise.

There are several candidates who are eyeing the role, all of whom are quite interesting.

One of the top requested casting choices for the next 007 is Henry Cavill, currently Warner Bros.’ Superman. He is still waiting for a sequel to his standalone. He had tried to lead a spy franchise of his own with The Man From U.N.C.L.E. before it lost its fans.

With Mission: Impossible – Fallout thriving, Henry is confident that through his role in it, he is now prepared to take the Mission Impossible signature element with him to the lead role of Bond.

Speaking to Yahoo U.K. as part of Mission: Impossible – Fallout‘s press tour, Henry expressed that the action-packed tricks with the Mission: Impossible franchise were just a tease of what he would bring to the Bond franchise. Although he has expressed interest before, this is what he had to say to Yahoo U.K.

I would love to do it of course. I think Bond would be a really fun role. It’s British, it’s cool. I think that now that I have my Mission: Impossible badge we can do real stunts and really amp it up as well… Not to say they weren’t doing real stunts I’m just saying it would be fun for me to actually take what I’ve learnt on this and carry it through to a movie like Bond. I’d love to play a Brit. I don’t get to play a Brit very often. So yes, I would love the opportunity and if they were to ask I would say “yes.”

Do you think Henry Cavill would make a good James Bond from here on out?
