‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Adds Ravi Patel and Gabriella Wilde

Just a few days after announcing that Insecure star Natasha Rothwell would be joining Wonder Woman 1984, two more additions have been announced in Ravi Patel and Gabriella Wilde. Much like Rothwell’s part, the roles for Patel and Wilde are being kept under wraps but coming off an exciting San Diego Comic-Con panel, the buzz surrounding Wonder Woman 1984 couldn’t be greater.

While we don’t know what characters these new actors will be playing we do know that Gal Gadot will be returning to reprise her role as the lasso swinging Diana Prince. Chris Pine will also be returning in some fashion as director Patty Jenkins released some exclusive photos of him in ’80s garb, sparking theories amongst fans as to how his assumed dead character Steve Trevor would be back. Lastly, we know that Kristen Wiig will be playing the film’s villain Cheetah.

Ravi Patel has recently guest-starred on series like Master of None, American Housewife and Wrecked. He also wrote, starred and co-directed the documentary Meet The Patels, which is now being turned into a feature-length film and will soon appear alongside Charlize Theron in the upcoming movie Flarsky.

Gabrielle Wilde has starred in The Three Musketeers and had a breakout role when she starred in 2014’s Endless Love with Alex Pettyfer. Since then she has had a recurring role in Poldark.

2017’s Wonder Woman found Steve Trevor’s (Chris Pine) plane crashing on Diana Prince’s (Gal Gadot) island nation of Themyscira where he explained to her the conflicts of the outside world, leading the Amazonian warrior to leave her home to stop the threat and help to fight the war to end all wars. Of course, along the way she discovered her true powers and destiny. The film was praised by critics and audiences, grossing over $800 million worldwide at the box-office and quickly received a sequel order. Gadot also appeared in Justice League later that year with Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller.

Wonder Woman 1984 is once again being directed by Patty Jenkins who led the 2017 film to become one of the best-reviewed DCEU films and became the best opening weekend from a female filmmaker and the highest-grossing live-action film directed by a woman.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on November 1, 2019!
