SDCC 2018: ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Roars Out a New Trailer

The King of the Monsters has made his presence known! While at the Warner Bros. Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the cast of Godzilla 2 was on hand to unveil the new trailer for the movie. Star Millie Bobby Brown shared a teaser trailer earlier in the week, which got fans excited, and the full trailer is even more thrilling, promising a satisfying follow-up to 2014’s Godzilla. Check it out below!

Here is the official synopsis for the film:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.  When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

The film marks the latest installment of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ “MonsterVerse” which already has more films in the pipeline including Godzilla Vs. Kong, which Walking Dead star Danai Gurira is expected to star in. While speaking with EW earlier this year, Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty explained that his follow up movie is all the fallout from 2014’s film.

“The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting, but there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.”

Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which hits theaters May 31, 2019, also stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi.
