Director James Wan Reveals SDCC ‘Aquaman’ Family Portrait Poster

Director James Wan and the Aquaman cast are gearing up for the big trailer reveal which will be happening this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer drop is perhaps the most highly-anticipated event happening at this weekend’s SDCC, but first, Wan shared a first look at the Aquaman Family Portrait.

Wan took to Twitter on Wednesday during preview day to share a pretty awesome looking poster featuring the cast of characters from the upcoming Aquaman film. Wan captioned his post, “Sweet! Large size poster for #SDCC2018 Family portrait —Ocean Master, Black Manta, Atlanna, Vulko, Nereus, Mera, Arthur, Fishermen, Brine, Trench, Atlantean Soldiers.”

The poster is bright, super color and ridiculously badass with Jason Momoa, who plays the titular character, front and center. We also get a glimpse of Amber Heard’s Mera, Nicole Kidman’s Queen Atlanta, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren’s King Nereus, Oscar-nominee Willem Dafoe’s Nuidis Vulko and much more.

Just this week, Warner Bros and DC dropped the first official film poster as well as the film’s synopsis. The first trailer for the film will drop during the Warner Bros. Hall H panel on Saturday, July 21st. We can’t wait!

Check out the film’s synopsis below and let us know what you think about the SDCC Aquaman Family Portrait in the comment section below.

The synopsis reads:

[row]“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.”[/row]

This is Wan’s first dip into the superhero world. He is best known for his work on The Conjuring and Insidious films and also directed Furious 7 which ended up being the top grossing film of the Fast and Furious franchise. Peter Safran is producing along with Zack and Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

Aquaman will officially splash down into theaters on December 21, 2018.
