Chicago P.D. is adding another member to their ranks for season 6. Deadline has confirmed that Anne Heche will be stepping on board the police drama in a recurring guest-starring role that is sure to strike a chord with Sgt. Voight (Jason Beghe).

Heche, who is returning to NBC after wrapping The Brave, which ran for one season, will be playing “Dep. Superintendent Katherine Brennan, who is smart, to the point and political, but often self-serving. A cunning and formidable opponent, she always keeps her wits about her.” That description seems to point all the fingers at Brennan being a new foe for Voight in season 6.

In addition to Voight, the series stars Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton, and Tracy Spiridakos. Elias Koteas was a series regular up until his death in the season 5 finale, which resulted in Voight shooting the man who ordered the kill and being questioned by the higher-ups.

Heche has recently appeared in films such as My Friend Dahmer, Armed Response, and The Last Word. In television, she had the one-season stint on The Brave, as well as SyFy’s Aftermath and guest-starred in an episode of Quantico. On the horizon, Heche will appear in The Best of Enemies alongside Wes Bentley, Sam Rockwell, and Taraji P. Hensen.

Chicgao P.D. returns to NBC on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10/9c where it joins fellow Chicago series Chigao Fire and Chigao Med on the new #OneChicago block.
