Josh Brolin Hopes to be a “Better” Cable
Deadpool 2 and Avengers Infinity War star Josh Brolin hopes he can be a “better” Cable next time around.
The arrival of Cable was sort of a big deal for both Deadpool 2 and the X-Men franchise, but he revealed to USA Today, that he wasn’t entirely happy with his performance.
“I do like the way it turned out. But I thought I could have been better,” Brolin said.
Now that Brolin is officially part of the X-Force, he said “Thank God. Man. I literally want to redeem myself to myself. I want to do a better version of what I do.”
He admits that he didn’t have a completely positive experience while filming Deadpool 2, and that working closely with Ryan Reynold’s was a highlight of the production:
“But then it clicked. I got to know (Reynolds) better. I trust him more. And we started this volley where it was like, ‘This is actually fun.’”
Deadpool 2 reviews were positive, and Brolin’s performance was celebrated as Cable as well as Thanos.
Details about an X-Force movie are thin, but the ending of David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 left a team that includes Brolin’s Cable, Reynolds’ Deadpool, Zazie Beetz’s Domino, and possibly Stefan Kapičić as Colossus and Julian Dennison as Firefist.
Brolin seems to be harsh on himself, regardless of the fact that he’s had a huge summer in film.
Previously up for the role of Nathan Summers (Cable) were Michael Shannon and Brad Pitt.
