Mark Hoppus on Blink-182’s new Sound

If you grew up on Blink-182 like me, you know how legendary this band is in the pop-punk world. For the people who are still following this band religiously (like me), they know that they are working on a new album, and are still touring as much as they can.

Recently, Zane Lowe interviewed the band’s bassist and co-lead vocalist, Mark Hoppus, and he talked about the new music Blink-182 is making. He said that it’s still in the writing stage, but that it sounds very ‘aggressive,’ ‘really dark’ and ‘weird.’

“If you take California and compare it to Enema of the State, I would say that what we’re writing now is more in line with ‘Take off Your Pants and Jacket‘ and the Untitled record.”

You can see the whole interview on the Apple Beats1 website.

How Mark Hoppus is describing the new album is intriguing, and makes me jump up and down for joy.

On the 19th of June, Blink-182 made a statement on their social media page about why they had to cancel some shows they were playing, and it was due to Travis Barker his condition. They put a hold on touring until Travis Barker is better, and can rock the stage again. To all the people that can’t make it on the new dates they’ll schedule, they made sure you can get a refund!

We hope that Travis Barker makes a speedy recovery and that he can play new shows soon!

There are no further details of when the album will be released yet.
