‘Supergirl’ Season Finale Preview ‘Battles Lost and Won’

Supergirl Preview ‘Battles Lost and Won’

Does Kara have what it takes to stop Reign?

The final battle between Kara and the evil Kryptonians is finally here. Selena’s plan has been to turn Earth into a new Krypton, using Reign as her means to achieve that goal. Last week’s episode ended with M’yrnn and J’onn heading to Earth’s core to stop the terraforming process, but it is going to cost M’yrnn his life. While they do that, Kara, Mon-El, and Alura will take the fight to Selena. I’m thinking that M’yrnn isn’t going to be the only casualty this week.

This whole season has been about Kara trying to embrace her Kryptonian side, believing the human part of her to be a weakness. In truth, her humanity is what makes Supergirl who she is. In the trailer, she still stands by her ideals and refuse to kill Reign. Would everything be easier if Kara did go all out and end her for good? Yeah, probably. That’s not who she is, though. Kara will always try and do what’s right, even if it’s going to get her killed. What Reign doesn’t understand, what the Selena doesn’t understand, is the power of human emotion. The one thing Team Supergirl is riding on is Sam getting to the pool in the Dark Valley and restoring her cells. Doing so will eradicate Reign. So while the whole season has been about removing Kara’s humanity, it’s going to be her and Sam’s humanity that wins the day.
