‘Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger’ Premiere Dominates on Freeform
Marvel continues to dominate both the big and the small screen as their latest series Cloak & Dagger broke a Freeform record with its premiere last week. The two-hour June 7th episode drew in an impressive 1.64 million viewers and became Freeform’s biggest series launch in the past two years! On top of that Cloak & Dagger had the biggest digital premiere for Freeform with 716,000 starts, and after the three-day numbers were calculated the series had clocked 7.3 million views across both linear and digital platforms.
People on social media were loving it enough to give Freeform the win for best social-scripted series on June 7th as well with 112,000 engagements across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr.

Cloak & Dagger follows Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt as Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen (aka the future Cloak & Dagger superheroes), two teenagers from very different backgrounds who develop superpowers that are somehow linked to each other. According to the series synopsis, “the only constant in their lives is danger and each other.”
In addition to Joseph and Holt, Cloak & Dagger stars Andrea Roth, Carl Lunstedt, Emma Lahana, Gloria Reuben, Jamie Zevallos, J.D. Evermore, and Miles Mussenden. Hereos’ Joe Pokask serves as series showrunner and executive producer in addition to Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb.
Cloak & Dagger joins ABC’s Agents of Shield, Netflix’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders, and Hulu’s The Runaways in the Marvel television universe.
