Kim Dickens Speaks on Shocking ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Death

Caution: Spoilers ahead. Read only if you have watched Fear The Walking Dead: “No One’s Gone”

——————————–

The mid-season 4 finale of Fear The Walking Dead was the culmination of the season’s story line thus far. It clarified how the flashbacks, and flash forwards all mesh together with the new characters to reveal what it all was leading up to. Unfortunately as some fans suspected, that meant the death of a character who has been on the show since the beginning.

This week, the show lost it’s leading matriarch, Madison.

It was somewhat un-suprising for fans, because Madison has mysteriously been left out of the present-day story line of the season, and only shown in flashbacks. Her death was pretty epic, as she ends up sacrificing herself during the Vutlure’s attack, by leading a hoard of zombies into the locked stadium, and then seeming to light it all up with a flare.
Kim Dickens posted to her instagram Sunday night, with some comforting words for fans of the show.

It’s been an honor to play such a strong, badass, empowered, fierce leader. I’ll miss playing Madison Clark but she will always be with me (because it’s me 😉). Thank y’all for watching ❤❤❤

She also appeared on Talking Dead following the episode where she had this to say.

“It’s so sad. Madison has been an incredible character to play. I feel like I worked my whole career to get to this point to play her. It’s been an honor.”

Unlike her TV son Nick (Frank Dillane), who asked to be removed from the show, Kim Dickens says she was shocked when she heard the fate of her character, and had not planned on leaving the show.

If you aren’t done seeing Kim Dickens on screen, you will soon be able to see her on HBO’s Deadwood revival which she’s set to start shooting in the Fall!

Fear The Walking Dead returns on August 12th. What do you think of Madison’s death?
