Bill Skarsgård is gearing up for ‘IT: Chapter 2’

Bill Skarsgård terrorized many with his stunning performance as Stephen King’s iconic villain Pennywise the Dancing Clown when IT debuted in theaters in September 2017. I have to say, he was absolutely amazing. He was everything I always imagined Pennywise to be, ever since I first read the novel back in 1999. The film itself was actually, quite fantastic. Believe me when I say, I have been counting down the days for this sequel since the first one arrived in theaters!

Filming for the sequel is set to begin next month, with Bill Skarsgård reprising his role of the killer clown. In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Skarsgård talked about how the job is quite different this time around:

I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a very different experience this time around, just given the fact that you have all of these incredible, seasoned actors to play against, as opposed to having all the kids. So it’s going to be a different experience for sure. But I’m looking forward to it. We’re gearing up for it now, so I’m sort of in the process of getting back into that character of Pennywise. I have a very good relationship with Andy, not only as a director and actor, but also just as a very close friend, so we’re having fun with it and we’re figuring out what we’re going to bring to the table for part two.”

The sequel’s current cast includes Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, James McAvoy as Bill, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley and Jay Ryan as Ben. The script will be helmed by Gary Dauberman, and it takes place 27 years after the first film. The Losers’ Club will return as adults, for one final battle against Pennywise.

The sequel arrives in theaters on September 6, 2019.
