Esmé Bianco Talks the ‘Game of Thrones’ Death She Really Wanted and Her Predictions for Season 8

Esmé Bianco Talks the Game of Thrones Death She Really Wanted and Her Predictions for Season 8

During Con of Thrones in Dallas, Esmé Bianco lit up the room when she took the stage to talk about everything Game of Thrones. Her character, Ros, started her journey in Winterfell, eventually gaining enough to travel to King’s Landing and become the head prostitute of Petyr Baelish’s brothel.

Bianco commented on Ros’ aspirations, saying that hers were very modest compared to some of the other people on the show. Ros just wanted to be happy, and Bianco thinks that if she had stuck around, then maybe she would’ve found love and started a family. Unfortunately, Ros got herself wrapped up in the “game of thrones” when she started spying for Varys. When Baelish found out, he gave her to Joffrey, which resulted in her death. Bianco recalled the moment she found out she was getting killed off. She grew suspicious when she stopped receiving scripts, thinking that maybe they were just behind, but soon realized that something was wrong. Finally, she got an email for a conference call with the showrunners, which she described as “an awkward break-up conversation.” Bianco added that they didn’t even have the nerve to tell her how she was going to die.

“I had visions of coughing blood into a white handkerchief. Dying a beautiful, dramatic death I’ve always dreamt of dying. My mom actually did have tuberculosis and she said it’s not that glamorous at all. So they send me the script, and I read it and I’m like ‘God damn. That’s not okay.’ Of all the people to kill me. And I’m not going to get to die on screen, I’m already dead. This sucks.”

While filming the sequence, Bianco says that she did a couple of takes where she could cough and be in the process of dying. The director would then yell cut and tell her that she is dead. When Bianco finally saw the finished product, she admitted that it does look really cool. She thinks that her pose looks like a Saint Sebastian painting. “Artistic, darlings.”

Bianco has continued to watch the show since her departure. She talked about how much she has enjoyed watching Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy, and laments the fact that he’s never received an Emmy nomination. During her time on the show, Bianco shared a lot of scenes with Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish). When Baelish finally met his end in Season 7, Bianco says she danced around singing, “He’s dead! He’s dead!” She also loved the fact that Arya was the one who did it.

At the end of the panel, Bianco was asked what she thinks is going to happen in the final season. She is rooting for Sansa, Arya, and Tyrion, but also has some wild theories as to what might transpire. Bianco thinks that Daenarys and Jon are going to have a baby, because “in TV world, you have sex one time and you’re pregnant.” She also believes that Viserion is going to fly down to King’s Landing and cause major damage.

“I think the ice dragon is going to go down to King’s Landing and….Burn? Icicle? It doesn’t go up in flames, it’s just like….What? Freezer-burned? Okay, so I think King’s Landing is going to get freezer-burned. I think Tyrion is somehow gonna come to the rescue of all of it. As always. Then Uncle Benjen is suddenly gonna appear on his horse again….And I don’t know….Sansa’s gonna do something amazing. That much I can say. Sansa’s gonna do something cool and amazing. And I’m gonna come back from the dead.”
