Legendary author Stephen King returns home with his latest novella, Elevation. The beloved town of Castle Rock has been the backbone of numerous King novels throughout the years, including bestsellers such as The Dead Zone, Cujo, The Body (Stand By Me), The Dark Half and Needful Things, and it seems the town is simply not done telling its tales.

While Mr. King is best known for his talent to terrify, he also has an unparalleled ability to evoke heartwarming emotion. Touted as a touching story that is eerie, intriguing, and mysterious, Elevation will surely capture a wide array of readers and may have King’s biggest fans in need of some tissues. Additionally, not known as one to hold opinions to himself, Stephen King also touches upon the misgivings of today’s society in his upcoming release.

“In the small town of Castle Rock, the setting of many of King’s most iconic stories, Scott is engaged in a low grade—but escalating—battle with the lesbians next door whose dog regularly drops his business on Scott’s lawn. One of the women is friendly; the other, cold as ice. Both are trying to launch a new restaurant, but the people of Castle Rock want no part of a gay married couple, and the place is in trouble. When Scott finally understands the prejudices they face–including his own—he tries to help. Unlikely alliances, the annual foot race, and the mystery of Scott’s affliction bring out the best in people who have indulged the worst in themselves and others.” – Source: Simon & Schuster

The news of Elevation comes on the heels of King’s latest novel, The Outsider, that hit bookshelves on May 22nd. Eager fans will have to be patient though as Elevation is not due for release until October 30th later this year. The good news is that you can pre-order it right now on Amazon. Who is ready to reach new heights with some Elevation? 😉
