If you haven’t seen Avengers: Infinity War, we’d recommend not reading any further. This post contains a major (and emotional) spoiler.
While Avengers: Infinity War has been in theaters for weeks now, there’s a new take away each time you leave the theater.
Having seen the film multiple times, a few lines ended up sticking with out more than others. One of them couples with a prominent moment for one character.
Directly after hearing Thor say he had nothing left to lose, Rocket gives audiences around the world a bit of heartache. Under his breath, as if he is scared to say it out loud, he admits that he has a lot to lose.
Rocket’s always been a bit of a loner. He’s completely capable of handling everything that comes his way, however, the Guardians are his family. The battle against Thanos really hits that point home, especially when it is discovered that he is unlike any villain they’d faced before.
In the end, Rocket does lose it all, however, he finds something within that loss. He finds the ability to be strong, and to show a side of vulnerability. We liked seeing the glimpses of his softer side, the bond he built with Thor, and even his heartbreaking last moment with a Groot in this film. It all holds a promise of growth and power for the hero. After all, he is the captain now.
We think it’ll be an important arc for him in Avengers 4.
You can see Rocket in action, in Avengers: Infinity War now.
