17 of our Favorite Quotes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel Studios/Infinity War Trailer

It seems like we’ve been waiting for Avengers: Infinity War for years, and in some ways, we have. The film has been 10 years in the making and with its arrival less than three weeks away, we’re more anxious than ever before.

We’ve rewatched all the films (more than once), stocked up on Infinity War merchandise, and reserved tickets for multiple showings during opening weekend. So now, we’re counting down the days until the theater debut.

With just 17 days to go, we’ve decided to shine a light on 17 of our favorite quotes from the MCU so far.

It was actually quite hard to narrow it down to just 17 quotes. There are a lot of incredible points of dialogue in every film. Along with the one-liners, you won’t find yourself at the end of a Marvel Studios film without having a quote from the movie in your head.

‘If we can’t protect the earth, you can be damned sure we’ll avenge it.’

‘Evacuate the city, engage all defenses, and get this man a shield.’

‘In time, you will know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right. Yet to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.’

‘Let them try.’

T’Challa assures Steve that Bucky will be safe in Wakanda, providing him peace and solace.

‘I’m just a kid from Brooklyn.’

‘I still believe in heroes.’

We do too, Nick Fury.

‘Forget everything you think you know.’

‘Dr. Banner, your work is unparalleled. And I’m a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.’

We love a snarky Tony Stark.

‘Is this your king? Huh? Is this your king? He’s support to protect you! To lead Wakanda into the future! Nah, I’m your king!’

‘I don’t know if you’ve been in a fight before but there’s usually not this much talking.’

We also love a snarky Sam Wilson.

‘Hey fellas, either one of you know where the Smithsonian is? I’m here to pick up a fossil.’

‘I told you, I don’t want to join your super-secret boy band.’

What we wouldn’t give for matching outfits and corny dance moves from the Avengers.

‘We know each other, he’s a friend from work!’

‘I am Groot.’

Three words can mean so much.

‘He might have been your father, boy, but he wasn’t your daddy.’

‘…but I knew him.’

We’re not emotional, you are.

‘I can do this all day.’

Some of them made us laugh, others made us cry, and our favorite quote of all is the six-word phrase uttered by Captain America both pre and post serum. He fights for what’s right, stands up for those who can’t for themselves, and shines a light when times get dark.

Thanos will definitely be bringing darkness, so we’ll need Steve Rogers more than ever.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th.
