Avengers: Infinity War’s Impact on the MCU

‘So you’re a man who has everything… and nothing.’

When Iron Man hit theaters in 2008, fans saw the larger than life hero brought to life in a way no one had seen before. It wasn’t just Iron Man who made his big screen debut, it was the beginning of the MCU as we know it.

Iron Man was the first look into what the Marvel Cinematic Universe was capable of, and as fans have seen over the last almost 10 years, they knew they were on the brink of something that would change pop culture forever.

So how does the MCU commemorate 10 years and also begin to lay the groundwork for the next decade of Marvel magic? Simply put, Avengers: Infinity War. This film isn’t going to go down in history as just a comic book super film.

It’s going to stand the test of time as one of the pillars of pop culture.

Legend tells us one thing; history, another, but every now and then, we find something that belongs to both.

It feels sort of like a goodbye, and in a way – it is. The first 10 years of the MCU have been everything from exciting to exhausting to some degree. It’s all been a learning experience in paving the way for superhero films, and for the next 10 years of Marvel Studios.

So Avengers: Infinity War is a big deal for fans. It’s going to be an emotional theater experience and the time leading up to it is emotional as well.

See, this movie isn’t just a movie. You may be tired of reading that by now, but it’s an experience. It’s THE experience. It’s the culmination blah blah blah…you’ve heard it all before. However, saying the words again doesn’t make them less true. It’s the movie that we’ll celebrate, laugh through, cry during, and see as a turning point.

These heroes are coming to face their biggest evil, but it’s not the only evil out there. These heroes have been the forefront of the MCU, but they’re not the only heroes out there.

A thing isn’t beautiful because it lasts.

What goes never truly leaves us. Especially in the world of the MCU, especially with the impact that these heroes have made on their fans. Both on and off screen.

It has been the journey of a lifetime, watching the MCU being built with each film, each end credit scene, and each story that captivated fans across the world.

Every day this month, we’ll be reminiscing on everything from our favorite MCU heroes to the moments that made them who they are.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th.
