Chris Evans on ‘Lobby Hero’ and Playing Captain America

Right now, the eyes of the world are on the actors and actresses that bring our favorite MCU characters to life. There are just 30 days until Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters and it’s all we can think about. Judging by the hashtags on various forms of social media, we aren’t the only ones.

It comes as no surprise that when Chris Evans celebrated opening night of Lobby Hero, he was also asked a question about Steve Rogers. While his response begins with a statement we’ve heard before, he did go on to elaborate on what would be different for him in the future.

If you’ve been avoiding everything Evans says about his future at the MCU, you should probably click away now.

If you haven’t been, what he said isn’t surprising. He confirmed that his contract is up for now, and followed up by

‘…so that’s as far as I know’.

He went on to say what he’ll miss about Captain America and the MCU as a whole.

‘I’ll miss everything about Captain America. I mean, it’s not just the character, it’s the people – the experience, such good movies, such wonderful memories. I’ll miss a lot.’

It’s not like he’ll ever be gone, truly gone, from Captain America or the MCU. However, as he steps back from actively playing a role in the films, it’ll be a lot different.

We’re still holding out for him bowing out in one of those, ‘I’ll be here if you need me’ situations.

On his role in Lobby Hero, Evans said this about his character, who is very different than Steve Rogers.

‘He’s not a good man. I sometimes play, you know, selfless people who are more concerned with the welfare of others than themselves, and that’s not exactly this guy. It’s fun to explore different avenues as an actor.’

His statement makes us excited to see what he’ll do outside of the MCU next.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th.
