WATCH: The Rivalry Continues in the First Full Trailer for ‘Cobra Kai’

This may not be 1984 but, in the first full trailer for the upcoming YouTube Red series Cobra Kai, the iconic rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence is just as strong as ever!

The trailer fully re-introduces us to Lawrence (William Zabka) some 30 years after he was defeated by LaRusso’s (Ralph Macchio) crane kick to the face.  Since then, Lawrence has been going through some tough times and seems to be constantly mocked over the events that took place so many years ago.  In one scene, Lawrence stops by LaRusso’s car dealership where he’s met by LaRusso and his employees. “This is the guy whose ass you kicked?” one employee asks. LaRusso confidently corrects him by quickly saying, “If you want to get technical, I kicked his face.”

All of this is about to change now that Lawrence has reopened the Cobra Kai Dojo and he even has a new student.  However, if LaRusso has anything say in the matter, Cobra Kai won’t be returning. “He thinks he can bring Cobra Kai back to the valley?  Not on my watch,” LaRusso says.

The two find themselves once again facing off in what’s sure to be a battle of epic proportions.  LaRusso warns Lawrence as he begins to suit up into his karate gear, “Johnny, you and me, this, we aren’t done.”

Check out the official first full trailer below.  Cobra Kai premieres on YouTube Red on May 2nd.  Are you ready?
