Stop What You’re Doing and Watch the First Trailer for ‘Tag’
When you think about a movie that’s based on a true story, you might gravitate towards a sweeping biopic or an Oscar contender. On the comedy side, the latest one to come to mind is probably Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and that was only loosely based on the Stangle brothers viral craigslist ad. Well, today the internet was blessed with a full-length trailer for the upcoming “true story” comedy titled Tag, which is literally about the longest game of tag in history.
Everything from the premise, which follows a group of friends who have been playing a single game of tag for nearly their whole lives, to the cast including Ed Helms, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Jake Johnson, Leslie Bibb, and Isla Fisher, is pure gold.
As mentioned above, the film essentially follows a group of adult friends who have been playing tag with each other every year during the month of May for 30 years. No matter what the circumstances are in their lives, the game of Tag is always on. It doesn’t matter if you’re getting married:
Or having a baby…if you’re it – you’re it.
However, their friend Jerry (Renner) has never been tagged and is looking to retire from the game on top, so the group makes it their mission to tag Jerry.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
