After a successful first season of The Sinner, Bill Pullman is coming back for round 2! USA Network announced today that they were renewing the mysteriously thrilling miniseries for another season of eight episodes. This new season will focus on Pullman’s character Detective Ambrose “as he tracks his newest ‘why-dunnit,’ while staying true to the unique, edge-of-your-seat storytelling that captivated audiences and critics alike.”
Jessica Biel, who played a distraught young mother involved in a puzzling murder last season, will be staying on as a producer for Season 2. The sophomore season will find Ambrose returning home to New York to investigate a case in which a young boy with no obvious motives murdered both of his parents.
The second season renewal comes as no surprise as it was a hit with the critics and was nominated for two Golden Globes this past year – Best Actress in a Limited Series for Biel, and Best Limited Series. Executive producer and showrunner Derek Simonds will be returning.
