EW Provides Character Catch-Up Before ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
With the embargo lifted from visits to the Avengers: Infinity War set, a lot of new information is floating around. From set visits and interviews to behind the scenes photos, we’ve seen more of the film in the last couple days than we have since the original trailer last November.
It can be a bit overwhelming to try to keep up, so in their latest edition, EW made some cheat sheets. These aren’t your average ‘scribble a lot of totally unreadable notes together’ cheats. They’re easy to read, to the point, and perfect for even the noblest and most knowledgeable MCU fan.
First are the character catch-ups. These give a tidbit of information about each character and when we last saw them. This gives you a bit of a ‘refresher’ as to what state of mind they’ll be in when Thanos’ war begins to wage.
If you’ve yet to get your hands on the magazine, we’ve typed the quick facts up for you below.
Captain America was last seen in Captain America: Civil War. ‘After breaking his friends out of prison, a shield-less Steve assured Tony he’s just a call away, before delivering Winter Soldier to Wakanda for treatment.’
Iron Man was last seen in Spider-Man Homecoming. ‘The sarcastic billionaire was heading into a press conference with Pepper Potts after Spider-Man declined his offer to join the Avengers.’
Thor was last seen in Thor: Ragnarok. ‘Down one hammer and one eye, Thor was leading his people to Earth in the wake of their world’s destruction when their vessel came face-to-face with Thanos’ ship.’

Also, kudos to you if you can hear ‘the rest of the world’ in any voice other than T’Challa’s now.
Spider-Man was last seen in Spider-Man Homecoming. ‘Peter Parker defeated Vulture before facing the wrath of Aunt May who had just found out he’s Spider-Man.‘
Black Widow, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Hawkeye were last seen in Captain America: Civil War. ‘Fighting alongside Cap against Iron Man landed this bunch in prison, that is until Captain America staged a prison break.‘
Bucky Barnes was last seen in Black Panther. ‘Thanks to Black Panther’s genius little sister, Princess Shuri, Bucky has been cured of his Hydra brain-washing and can enjoy Wakanda in peace.‘
Doctor Strange was last seen in Thor: Ragnarok. ‘The Sorcerer Supreme is probably still busy cleaning up the Sanctum Sanctorum after Thor’s hammer Mjolnir caused a bit of a mess.‘
War Machine was last seen in Captain America: Civil War. ‘Although the great Leipzig Airport brawl left Rhodey unable to walk, he regained the use of his legs thanks to a Stark-built exoskeleton.’
Vision was last seen in Captain America: Civil War. ‘Our favorite Infinity Stone-powered hero was brooding in front of a chess set in the wake of the great battle over the Sokovia Accords.’
Star-Lord was last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. ‘After a catastrophic reunion with his father, the space cowboy was left mourning the death of his surrogate father, Yondu, and contending with an adolescent Groot.’
Gamora was last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. ‘Gamora and her sister Nebula finally reconciled, because nothing unites sisters like hating on a parent – in this case, Thanos.’
Thanos was last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. ‘Because his acolytes failed to get the Infinity Stones for him, Thanos decided to get up off the bench and go after them himself.’
The cheat sheets in the magazine exist at the bottom of a few pages in the middle of the issue. You won’t want to miss out on this collector must-have, available on newsstands now.
