‘Carl and his Moms’ Panel Recap: Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira and Sarah Wayne Callies
Walker Stalker Convention overtook London Sunday, where many cast members-old and new-from The Walking Dead were able to reunite. Carl’s recent death has shaken The Walking Dead fandom to the core, and it’s about to change the direction of the show forever.
We chatted with Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori) initially after Carl’s death episode, and she had nothing but good things to say about her TV son played by Chandler Riggs.
During Sunday’s Walker Stalker Convention London ‘Mother and Son’ panel, we have the privilege of gathering Danai Gurira (Michonne) along with Sarah and Chandler.
When Chandler was asked who taught Carl more in The Walking Dead world, he answered:
“I think Michonne because she got to spend more time with him and they had a special connection but I think he’ll be attached to Lori no matter what. She raised him and made him who he was meant to be in the apocalypse.”

Sarah and Chandler shared a special bond off camera as well.
She told him how excited she is for what he will do next, and says the world will be a better place for whatever he does do.
If only Lori was still around to help Rick cope with Carl’s death. When asked why Rick has only opened Negan’s letter from Carl and not his own, Chandler assures fans that Rick will soon read his son’s dying words and that, eventually, he will come around:
“I think it’s him rejecting what Carl wants. Eventually, I think he’ll come around and realize this is a much better world for Judith. “

Carl will be missed dearly on the series and, for the cast which has become as close as family, on set as well. When asked who he will missed the most from the cast and crew, Chandler had a difficult time naming just one person.
Who will Chandler miss the most? “Andy, Jeffrey and Norman-and the whole cast.” #WSCLondon pic.twitter.com/EUFsUrrvtp

While his time on The Walking Dead has come to an end, Chandler’s future is bright and full of great potential. He’s already making big moves with his budding music career and is continuing to act as well.
