While it’s hard to think of the MCU right now and not be concentrated on Black Panther, fans are still looking forward to Avengers: Infinity War. With the film set to be one of the biggest in history, it comes as no surprise that Marvel Studios is keeping things secret.
For now, we have the basic outline of the film, and that’s it. While a full trailer is expected to drop soon, we don’t want to know much else. So in the spirit of leaving audiences guessing until they’re in the theater to watch the film, most talk of Infinity War has been tied to the big 10-year celebration of the MCU.
As comicbook.com reports, the digital copy of Thor: Ragnarok includes a snippet of Joe Russo discussing 10 years of the MCU so far.
‘Every story that Marvel has told since Iron Man 1 finds a narrative thread in these next two Avengers movies. It is a culmination of all that storytelling.’
‘With Infinity War, we’re paying off every little thread and every little tease that we’ve had in what will be 18 films prior to Infinity War. There’s never been anything like this. Being able to, film after film, tease at a larger story. Really building these stories up into a giant conclusion. While at the same time introducing an entirely new direction for the future.’
To know that the powerhouse films we’ve been expecting are going to be as full of story and heart as they are character and star power only serve to make us more excited to see Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Although, it’s excitement we’re willing to live with rather than rush through because with that new chapter comes those heartbreaking ends. Those are going to be difficult.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th.
