Fans of ABC’s newest hit medical drama The Good Doctor have a love/hate relationship with Dr. Neil Melendez but, when it comes to the actor that plays the character, it’s all love.
Actor Nicholas Gonzalez earns high praise from fans not only for his role as Dr. Melendez but also for his roles on How to Get Away with Murder and Being Mary Jane. That’s why it comes as no surprise that Gonzalez is among several deserving honorees at the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s 21st Annual Impact Awards Gala taking place on February 23rd.
According to the NHMC’s website, the Impact Awards Gala, “recognizes the outstanding achievements and contributions to the positive portrayals of Latinos in media,” with past honorees including Michelle Rodriguez, America Ferrara, George Lopez, Zoe Saldana, Mario Lopez and Rosario Dawson just to name a few.
In addition to Gonzalez, Aubrey Plaza is receiving recognition for her roles in Ingrid Goes West, The Little Hours and Legion and the film Coco is being honored for Outstanding Motion Picture of 2017.
