Netflix’s ‘Sabrina’ Series Introduces Greendale’s Newest Resident – Salem!
Everyone knows that you can’t have Sabrina the Teenage Witch without her trusty side-cat Salem! We already met Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka who will be playing the titular role of the half-witch, half-human in the Netflix series based on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Archie Comic, but now executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has given us all a glimpse at Greendale’s latest recruit- the oh so wise Salem.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet #Greendale’s latest resident. All hail, Salem! #sabrina, #netflixpic.twitter.com/XZ1dNPgvja

Despite being portrayed as a talking cat with his eyes set on world domination in the Melissa Joan Hart Sabrina the Teenage Witch series, Salem was just an ordinary, non-speaking cat in the original source material. Over time, his comic book counterpart eventually began to evolve into a much darker version of the character, which seems fairly in line with the dark and angsty tone the Netflix adaption will have.
The untitled series already received a two-season pickup and will be the perfect counterpart for all of the Riverdale fans out there!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
