‘The Good Doctor’ Episode Preview – ‘Seven Reasons’

The surgical team is all back together at San Jose St. Bonaventure but that doesn’t mean everything is all smiles and happiness.

Last week’s episode left off with Dr. Shaun Murphy making the decision to stay in San Jose (thank goodness) and Dr. Jared Kalu getting his job back even if Dr. Andrews emphatically disapproved of his approach in doing so.  The major shocker of the episode, however, came when Jessica Preston told Dr. Neil Melendez that she wants to break up with him, even after he was willing to sacrifice his desire to have children in order to be with her.

In this week’s episode title Seven Reasons, it appears that Dr. Melendez is having a pretty tough time dealing with this breakup and it may be affecting his job as a surgeon.  Things escalate when Shaun steps in and files a complaint with Dr. Aaron Glassman.  What’s going to happen when Shaun and Dr. Melendez go head-to-head?

Check out the official synopsis and preview of Monday night’s episode below:

“Dr. Shaun Murphy suspects his patient is lying about the reason for her injury and makes a controversial assumption about her motives. Meanwhile, Dr. Neil Melendez’s personal life could be affecting his work and, ultimately, his patients’ lives.”

“Seven Reasons” was written by David Shore and David Hoselton and directed by Mike Listo.

From Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios, The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Browne, Nicholas Gonzalez as Dr. Neil Melendez, Chuku Modu as Dr. Jared Kalu, Beau Garrett as Jessica Preston, Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman and Tamlyn Tomita as Allegra Aoki.  The series is written by David Shore (House).  Shore is also an executive producer along with Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hawaii Five-O), David Kim and Sebastian Lee.

The Good Doctor airs Mondays at 10 PM EST on ABC.  What do you think about Shaun going head-to-head with Dr. Melendez?  Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
