Mark Ruffalo Encourages Fans to Take Part in #TimesUp Movement

One of the biggest movements of 2017 was the movement to end sexual assault in Hollywood. While many of the victims have been silenced for years, others tried to use their voices and were shut down. It’s been a vicious cycle in the business and it’s finally come to a point of no return.

That’s why celebrities, both men and women, are using their platform to charge forward with the Times Up Movement. This movement aims to bring safety and equality to women in their profession. The simple, yet effective, tagline for the movement is as follows.

The clock has run out on sexual assault, harassment, and inequality in the workplace. It’s time to do something about it.

Mark Ruffalo started the day with an Instagram video, posted to millions of followers, encouraging them to take part in the #TimesUp and #WhyWeWearBlack movement. Ruffalo explains the importance of the movement and of using your voice in the video below.

While you may not be at the Golden Globes tonight, you can do as Ruffalo said and make posts on social media. Wear all black, use the hashtags, and stand in solidarity.

To find out other ways you can be involved, check out the website and use your voice.
