WATCH: Luke Evans Gives a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Stunning ‘The Alienist’ Set
We’re just over a month away from the series premiere of TNT’s new psychological thriller The Alienist and series star Luke Evans has a special treat for fans.
On Monday, Evans shared a video via his Facebook page taking viewers behind-the-scenes of the incredibly immaculate sets for the series. The Alienist is filmed in Budapest on a newly constructed, completely immersive environment. Everything you see was built or constructed for the series, right down to the cobblestone streets.
The sets are stunning and impeccably detailed which will help viewers become consumed into the time period and world of the series. Check out Evans’ tour below:
Set in New York City during 1896, a series of haunting and gruesome murders have taken place. The city has one of its first serial killers on its hands! Newly appointed police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt (Brian Geraghty) is stumped by the crimes and secretly enlists the help of criminal psychologist/alienist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl) and newspaper illustrator John Moore (Evans). Kreizler and Moore are joined by Sara Howard (Dakota Fanning) a determined secretary who dreams of becoming the first female police detective. The trio uses psychology and early forensic techniques in order to capture the culprit.

The psychological thriller drama is set in 1896 when a series of gruesome murders of boy prostitutes has gripped the city. Newly appointed top cop Teddy Roosevelt calls upon Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a criminal psychologist — aka alienist — and newspaper illustrator John Moore to conduct the investigation in secret. Joining them in the probe is Sara Howard, a headstrong secretary at Police Headquarters.
