Wil Wheaton Attends ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Screening in a ‘Star Trek’ Uniform
Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released nationwide today and it seems like everyone is rushing out to the theaters to see it. And we mean everyone!
Actor Wil Wheaton attended a screening of the film on Thursday night at Los Angeles’ historic Chinese theater and, he decided to have a little fun with Star Wars fans.
Wheaton, who is best known for playing the role of Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, knows all too well the friendly rivalry that exists between Star Wars and Star Trek fandoms. Of course, he’s loyal to his own franchise but, Wheaton also happens to be an all-around cool guy and fellow fan of all things pop culture himself.
As a joke to both fandoms, Wheaton showed up to the screening “representing the home team,” as he says in his Instagram post. He was dressed in a Star Trek uniform which totally messed with fans of the Star Wars franchise.
But don’t worry Star Wars fans. Wheaton had nothing but positive things to say about the film. He posted to his twitter page, “I loved #TheLastJedi! It hit all the right notes for me. Seeing it in the Chinese Theater, surrounded by my fellow nerds was glorious. The Force was with us.”
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Big Bang Theory fans might remember a scene similar to this exact situation which unfolded in the series:
Well played, Wil Wheaton! Well played!
