Stephen King’s ‘Pet Sematary’ Gets Official Release Date

Alright King fans, it is time to mark your calendars! For those of you who are still hype from Andrew Muschietti’s amazing readaptaion of the Stephen King best selling novel, IT, don’t lose that jive- There is another film on the way!

Today, Paramount announced that the reboot of the 1989 movie now holds a tentative scheduled release in theaters on April 19, 2019. You really can call this ‘The Year of the King’, as IT: Part 2 will also be released a few months later (September 6th, 2019).

Pet Sematary will be directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer and the script will be written by Jeff Buhler. Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer are absolutely the perfect choice for this film, having directed several episodes of MTV’s Scream and the Thriller-Indie Film Starry Eyes. Essentially, these guys know how to debut a good scare.
