Jordan Peele’s ‘The Twilight Zone’ Reboot Gets Official Green Light From CBS All Access

It’s official!  After years and years of discussion, fault starts and rumored development, a reboot of the television classic The Twilight Zone has officially been given the green light by CBS.

Last month, it was rumored that Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions was circling the project.  On Wednesday, Peele confirmed his involvement.  He said the following in a statement:

“Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.

Peele will be bringing the new version of the iconic anthology series to CBS All Access, CBS’s new streaming service which gained popularity this year after the release of Star Trek: Discovery.

CBS All Access executive Julie McNamara expressed the platform’s excitement regarding the series development and it’s key players:

“The original The Twilight Zone bridged science fiction, horror, and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before. Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today’s audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series.”

Peele, Simon Kinberg (X-Men, Deadpool) and Marco Ramirez (Marvel’s The DefendersDaredevil, Sons of Anarchy) will serve as executive producers.  The group will also collaborate on the premiere episode. Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon will also serve as executive producers.
