Quentin Tarantino is considering making a ‘Star Trek’ Movie

What a night to ‘Live Long and Prosper’! If there is one thing that we can say about Quentin Tarantino’s movies, it is that they are definitely riding the ‘extreme’ category when it comes to movies. From films like Inglorious Bastards to Django Unchained, this guy certainly knows how to make a movie. Not just any movie, but a dang good one with that.

While prepping to direct his Manson film that he recently set up at Sony Pictures, a recent report has indicated that he is going bold with the idea for an even newer film – Stark Trek.

Deadline reported that Tarantino has come up with a great idea for a Star Trek movie at Paramount. He’s so excited about this movie, that he has even began sharing his idea with JJ Abrams (Star Wars).

Although this may seem like an out of left field film for Tarantino to be directing, the iconic director has actually been a long time fan of the TV Series.

“I’m definitely a fan of the original series and definitely a fan of William Shatner. I actually think [a film] could be cool, because the old episodes are fantastic. The only thing that limited them was their 60s’ budget and eight-day shooting schedule. You could take some of the great Star Trek episodes and easily expand them to 90 minutes or more and really do some amazing, amazing stuff. The obvious one would be City On The Edge of Forever.’ That’s what everyone would go do, but there’s a reason everyone would go to that—it’s one of the classic stories of all time, one of the great time travel stories.”

Well, this will certainly be an interesting turn for the Star Trek franchise! We will keep you posted with updates as they are released! Stay tuned!
