‘House of Cards’ to Resume Production on Season 6 With Robin Wright
Netflix has finally made a decision about the future of their original series House of Cards nearly two months after production on Season 6 was suspended due to the sexual assault allegations made against Kevin Spacey – the show will go on.
Chief content officer Ted Sarandos confirmed the news on Monday at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York that the political thriller would continue with its sixth and final season without Kevin Spacey, allowing Robin Wright to take the lead.
With production officially resuming in January, the season will run for 8 episodes, which is a few episodes short of the usual 13, and will come to a creative conclusion that hopefully, fans will be happy with.
Netflix will start production on last season of House of Cards next year. Will be a “good creative conclusion” says content boss Ted Sarandos.

This is the outcome that a lot of House of Cards fans wanted both before and after the allegations against Spacey were made. Robin Wright has always been a favorite and oftentimes was hailed as the “real lead” of the series, so it’s safe to say the news was definitely met with much excitement by fans.
#HouseofCards will have an 8 episode final season starring Robin Wright, Kevin Spacey won’t be involved. About damn time she becomes the lead. pic.twitter.com/EOhiOCIHEZ

A season of #HouseofCards starring Robin Wright and only Robin Wright is all I’ve ever wanted.
Finally, something good.

What do you think about the path Netflix took? Are you excited to see Wright in the captain’s chair? Sound off!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
