Jason Momoa Teases ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 as “the Greatest Thing That’s Ever Aired on TV”

Jason Momoa recently visited the set of HBO’s Game of Thrones and his visit caused quite a stir.  Rumors began to fly that Khal Drogo would somehow be making a triumphant return during the series’ final season, however, as it turns out, Momoa was just there visiting his friends in the cast and crew.

While there, and whether he wanted to or not, Momoa got some insider intel on the upcoming eighth and final season. Now, Momoa would never, EVER dish behind-the-scenes spoilers about the series however he is dishing on how incredible the final season is setting up to be.  He recently told Entertainment Weekly:

“Just knowing how amazing this season is going to be…. It’s going to be the greatest thing that’s ever aired on TV. It’s going to be unbelievable. It’s going to f— up a lot of people. And it was a bummer because I’m a huge fan and I didn’t want to know what’s going on. I was like, ‘Damn, I didn’t want to know that!”

Momoa has been happily watching along with the rest of us as a fan since his character was killed on the show during season 1 and he absolutely loved this past season.  His favorite part?  Of course, it involves the Dothraki battling.  He told EW:

“The Spoils of War.  All last season I was jumping around like an idiot,” Momoa says. “Seeing the Dothraki riding over the hill, going into battle, surfing their horses, it was unbelievable. It was such a cool scene. It’s also a bummer moment: Why couldn’t [Drogo] have died there! I could have died in battle. We never got to see Drogo going into battle.”

We miss Khal Drogo too, Jason!  And we can’t wait to see what season 8 has in store and how this epic story will wrap up.  Fans are going to have to wait a while to find that out as it looks like the filming of season 8 will extend through the summer of 2018 which means we won’t have new Game of Thrones episodes until, most likely, 2019.
