Darren Criss Is Releasing a New Solo Album and All Is Right in the Music World
Even though Thanksgiving was last week, we are thankful for the talented triple threat that is Darren Criss every dang day.
He brilliantly played Blaine Anderson-Warbler on Glee for five years and is about to return to the small screen in Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace where he’s playing notorious serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
He’s been giving us great music over the years through his new band Computer Games that he started with his brother Chuck and his annual Elsie fest that celebrates all things theater. If you’re like me though you can never get enough Darren Criss music and thankfully our prayers have been answered as he just announced on Twitter today that he is releasing a brand new EP titled Homework!
He shared the news on his Twitter page with a link to his first official single and music video from the EP called “I Don’t Mind” and it’s certainly taking him back to his roots and where he’s always shined – standing in front of a microphone with just his guitar (and some cool hipster specs).
I have some new music for ya. New EP, “Homework.” I’m not out to break the charts, rule the radio, or change the world on this one. It’s just me being me, and making whatever that is totally available to you. Watch the vid for “I Don’t Mind” on YouTube. https://t.co/5zAqf7IJOy pic.twitter.com/ap6anC9iFn

The best thing about Darren’s musical catalog is that it literally has it all for any mood or any occasion. For instance, if you want to hear him cover an old pop song (sometimes better than the original) you can head to his Glee music. Or, if you want a fun and upbeat jam to party out to Computer Games is there to answer the call and if you’re looking for his signature singer-songwriter style, look no further than his 2010 EP Human, his recent cover of Les Miserables “I Dreamed a Dream” or his new EP Homework, which you can pre-order right now and get all sorts of cool gifts!
Those of you who have waited very patiently and supported me tirelessly through the years: Thank you. Starting today, you can pre-order the EP and I’ll be signing all physical copies of it through an exclusive CD+Merch Bundle pre-sale. Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
