Caity Lotz Shares Her Favorite Sara Death Scene; Talks Latest Scare
“Poor Sara. How many times you going to watch her die?” – Slade Wilson
Sara Lance is no stranger to death, having “died” and come back to life four times in the course of her Arrowverse journey. During the most recent episode of Legends of Tomorrow, Sara had yet another brush with death that lead comicbook.com to ask actress Caity Lotz which death is her favorite.
“I actually really don’t like dying onscreen like anything that I’ve ever done. You always die in things, at least I do. Which one was my favorite? Probably the one on the ship when everyone thought I was dead, but I just get sucked out in the water.”
This could be a reference to the first two times Sara was believed to be dead. First, Sara was sucked underwater after the explosion aboard the Queen’s Gambit. The second, Sara and Oliver were fighting Slade together when the Amazo started to sink. Sara was once more pulled underwater and assumed to be dead. Her swift exit from the Amazo would be followed by her being rescued by Nyssa al Ghul and joining the League of Assassins, which is something Lotz and fans wish to finally see.
In regards to almost dying at the hands of Eleanor Darhk this week, Lotz said that she was adamant to have her eyes open at the end of the scene so as not to appear dead.
“I made a big thing because they wanted me to have my eyes open at the end like, ‘Oh my God, Sarah is dead,.’ I was like ‘Guys, we’ve done that way too many times.'”
Instead, last the audience heard, Sara was placed in a medically-induced coma so she could recover from her wounds. Thus far, she isn’t visible in any of the promotional material for the season’s next episode, ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’
Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesday nights on The CW.
