’The Walking Dead’s Jordan Woods-Robinson Shares a Heartfelt Message with Fans

The Walking Dead’s all-out war is in full swing and, sadly, we have already seen some of our first casualties from the ongoing battles in the series.  Perhaps the most impactful death/walker-turn so far in season 8 has been that of Eric Raleigh played by Jordan Woods-Robinson.

In the second episode of the season, Eric suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach, a serious injury at any point in time but, almost a sure death sentence during a zombie apocalypse.  Eric died in this past Sunday’s episode and subsequently turned into a walker.  As he staggered off to join a walker herd, Eric’s life partner, Aaron (played by Ross Marquand) was left grief-stricken and inconsolable.

Woods-Robinson appeared on Sunday night’s Talking Dead episode where he was asked by host Chris Hardwick what he’d like to tell fans of Eric and Aaron.  In a video posted to his social media accounts on Tuesday, Woods-Robinson conveyed a heartfelt and emotional message of gratitude to fans for sharing their own stories with him of how these two characters influenced their lives.  He said:

“I would like to say thank you for sharing your stories.  Ross and I had so many conversations with members of the LGBTQ community about your stories and your challenges and your victories. And it always brought us such pride knowing that we were able to bring a relationship to life that resonated with so many people, that echoed at a core level.  Not just in that community, but allies and supporters and people who just enjoyed the show, thank you so much for just sharing your stories with us about why this show is important to you.  That’s what always made it incredible for me and I’m going to miss that.  So, thank you.  I’m well.  I hope you’re well and now I’m excited to watch this along side you.”

You can watch Woods-Robinson’s full message below in tweets 1 and 2.  The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 PM EST on AMC.
