Art and Empowerment Mix in an Fun and Exciting way with ‘Color Me Powerful’

There’s no time like the present to believe in what it means to be a strong woman. Now, more than ever, women are finding strength in each other and within themselves and they want to embrace that power. The days of cliques and ‘you can’t sit with us’ are long gone.

Now, there are tribes of women who encourage one another, support one another and applaud one another. There are strong women heroes in film and television, on pages of books and in stories told and in our own day to day lives. It’s a movement and there is no better way to show support than to bring that message home in your own way.

Downtown Bookworks has just released a new way to believe in that power, and it’s something fun for girls and women of all ages. So grab your colored pencils and pop Wonder Woman in your DVD player because Color Me Powerful is the girl power book you’ll want to indulge in asap.

Art and Empowerment Mix in an Fun and Exciting way with 'Color Me Powerful'

The author of the book, Sarah Parvis, said that the idea behind her newest book is to be fun and empowering.

‘I don’t think there can ever be enough fun and empowering titles for young women and girls. Color Me Powerful offers a little bit for everyone. Readers can answer questions about their talents and what makes them unique. They can design their own logo and cape, color in beloved characters, sketch superhero scenes, create their own superhero identity, and identify the characteristics that make superheroes – and themselves – strong.’

We aren’t sure about you, but we can’t wait to design our own logo and cape, and we’re sort of wondering why we haven’t done that before. Maybe we just didn’t have the awesome girl power setting to do it in, and we can thank Sarah for changing that.

The book is $12.99, $14.99 Can and is for ages 6 and up. It’s available now and you can find it here.
