New Images from Star Wars ‘The Last Jedi’ Teaser
We’ve gotten our second official teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and we wanted to dig a little deeper into the images we’ve been shown.
One new official image released today shows Rose and Finn flying to Canto Bight, the casino city. She’s seen wearing a necklace shaped like some sort of silver crescent. Tran told EW some more about it,
“That is definitely something that is significant to Rose’s backstory. It is an object that she kind of has throughout the film and it is representative of more than the object itself to her. So, yeah, that’s all I can say. It has significance that is, to me, something that means more than just what the object itself is.”
Digging into the teaser, the first image is of course The Millenium Falcon. We’re including it because there’s no better way to open up a trailer.
Next, it looks like Rey does coerce Luke to get back on the Falcon, the ship that started it all. It’s a tough moment to see, because now that Han is gone, things will forever be different in the cockpit of that ship. He tentatively flicks on the controls, but will he get in the pilot’s chair?
We get a look into Supreme Leader Snoke’s (Andy Serkis) throne room, along with his Praetorian Guards and The First Order’s General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson.
Of course, we have another look at the screaming porg and have to add him in, because we can’t wait for him and his soft feathers to warm our cold hearts, just like he warms Chewie’s.
Finn has obviously been working on his piloting skills since The Force Awakens, because it seems like he’s taken it up a notch. Here he is piloting a skimmer on the planet Crait. Here’s hoping this isn’t a full circle moment for Finn. We’d like to see him live another day!
A huge highlight is a newer clip of Leia, standing very still while her crew panics in the background. You can tell the look on her face is not a good one. She seems to know that there is imminent danger and there may not be anything she can do about it this time. She must be pretty worn out, she’s been all in for so many years and has lost so much because of it.
This is a very important image to include, because it shows the Falcon safely breaking out of the red tunnel TIE fighter battle on Crait that makes up most of the trailer itself.
We also see Luke and Rey in the rain, seemingly still in her training process. It’s raining, and it seems like Luke is saying her name. Rey picks up the Skywalker family light saber and is ready for battle.
We are so thrilled for The Last Jedi to hit theaters! December 15th. We’re ready. Are you?
