CBS All Access Eyes ‘The Twilight Zone’ Reboot
“You are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, The Twilight Zone!”
Arguably one of the greatest television series of all time, The Twilight Zone may soon be making a comeback. According to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS Corporation CEO Leslie Moonves announced on Thursday that a reboot of the iconic sci-fi series is in the works with a potential home on CBS All Access.
While it wasn’t made clear if The Twilight Zone reboot officially had a series order or if it was just in developmental stages, sources have said that Monkeypaw Productions (run by Jordan Peele) may be involved with its creation. Additionally, sources have said that Marco Ramirez (Marvel’s The Defenders, Daredevil, Sons of Anarchy) is onboard to write the script and to take on the role of showrunner for the series. CBS All Access declined to comment on either Peele or Ramirez’s involvement at this time.
CBS All Access has recently exploded onto the streaming services scene with another monster hit reboot – Star Trek: Discovery. The addition of Discovery to CBS All Access earned the services a record number of new users registering after the series premiered on CBS. CBS All Access could be looking to strike gold twice with another popular sci-fi reboot.
