Josh McDermitt takes on The Walking Dead Attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood

Josh McDermitt may be skilled in the world of the undead on The Walking Dead, but when he’s not on set, he’s a lot like the rest of us. When we say that, we mean scared out of our minds when we go to haunted houses and come face to face with zombies.

How do we know this? Well, Josh recently went through The Walking Dead attraction as part of Halloween Horror Nights and the entire thing was filmed. Before he even walked into the attraction, he said that he didn’t like scary things. A bit ironic from someone on a series about zombies, but it makes sense. He has a sensitive spirit.

As he began exploring, he realized that he was starting off in season 1 and was immediately spooked.

I already don’t like this.

It was all downhill from there. He had a blood-curdling scream as he continued through the attraction and it was obvious that the walkers loved scaring Josh. As he made his way through the attraction, he seemed to be making his way through seasons as well. The setups were different as time went on and the zombies even looked more…dead as he made his way through.

They definitely put a lot of time into making sure the attraction was as real as possible.  At one point, towards the end, Josh sort of just stopped walking and fake crying, but we have a feeling the fear behind those tears was real.

I think I need to go see a therapist now, I think I might do that. if you ever get a chance to see AMC’s  TWD Attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood I highly recommend it, just don’t expect me to go with you. I can’t do that again.’

Have you gone through the attraction? If so, was your reaction anything like Josh’s? Let us know.
