WATCH: Rick Grimes Rallies the Troops for All-Out War in the First 3 Minutes of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Premiere

We won’t have to wait much longer for The Walking Dead season 8 premiere but, for those of us who are just too excited, AMC has got our backs.  The network released a super sneak peek look at the season 8 premiere episode on Friday.

Below, you can watch the first three minutes of the 100th episode.  We know our survivors are on the brink of all-out war with the saviors and Sunday night’s episode picks up as preparations are underway.  The clip begins by showing viewers a couple of glimpses into the scene which freaked out fans everywhere.  Fans who have watched the San Diego Comic-Con trailer will notice the shot of the cane and the flowers which were linked to that mindblowing old man Rick scene. But that’s all we get.  Then, things really kick into high gear.

We see Carol (Melissa McBride) and Tara (Alanna Masterson) waiting for something.  What, we don’t know exactly but it sounds a herd of walkers passing by.  Dwight (Austin Amelio) gets an unexpected note delivered via an arrow to his motorcycle tire.  All the while, our survivors are preparing to go to war, harvesting scrap metal, forging swords and gathering for an inspiring Braveheart style speech from our fearless leader, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).  Grimes says:

“When I first met him, Jesus said that my world was going to get a whole lot bigger.  Well, we found that world.  We found each other.  That bigger world is ours by right.  That we’ve come together for it, all of us, it’s that much more true.  It’s ours by right!  Any person who would live in peace and fairness, who would find common ground, it’s their right too.  Those who use and take and kill to carve out the world and make it theirs alone, we end them!  We don’t celebrate it.  We don’t have shame about it either.  There’s only one person who has to die and I will kill him myself.  I will.  I will.”
