‘I have seen Gods fly, I’ve seen men build weapons that I couldn’t even imagine. I’ve seen aliens drop from the sky, but I have never seen anything like this.’

We are just months away from the premiere of one of the most anticipated superhero movies of all time. Black Panther is slated to hit theaters on February 16th and even in our excitement, we’re not sure anyone is prepared for the level this film is going to take us to.

T’Challa is still reeling from his father’s death and the battles, both internally and externally, in Civil War but that doesn’t mean that life is going to go easy on him. In fact, when he makes it to Wakanda, he’s in for another battle and it’s going to take everything he has to win.

The trailer shows scenes from the fight and it’s pitting friends against friends and family against family. As he just experienced, nothing takes down an empire like distrust between those who are the closest. These elements will be a critical part of the Black Panther film as T’Challa decides what kind of king he will become.

Perhaps the greatest struggle is that of Killmonger and Black Panther, and as you see in the trailer, it’s going to be fierce. They’ve got their own ideas as to how Wakanda should be governed and, if a storyline similar to the comics can be expected, a past that proves those ideas are very different.

I waited my entire life for this, the world’s gonna start over. I’m gonna burn it all.
What happens now determines what happens to the rest of the world.

If the trailer wasn’t already cool enough (it was), the song playing throughout the trailer is an unexpected treat. Gil Scott-Heron’s ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Televised’ plays as we see the fierce characters on screen battle for the beautiful and advanced Wakanda.

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16th, 2018.
